We offer professional services adhering to the Australian Health Regulation Board in maintaining confidentiality. The collection of personal information is secured in best interest for providing appropriate psychological services. Our services use secure software’s /online engines to ensure protection of client details. Exception to privacy clause:

There can be certain circumstances where disclosure is deemed compellable or important. These are:

• Immediate risk of harm to self/others
  Where the clinician assesses immediate risk/danger to the safety of their clients or those known to the clients and may take a discrete decision to contact emergency support services like police or mental health triage.
• Subpoena and court orders
  Where there is a court order set in place. Subject to the type of request, the clinician may have obligations to release client case notes and any other documented evidences.
• Mandatory Notifications
  The clinicians operating in the state of Victoria have a responsibility and are mandated to report any child/minor abuse & neglect to the Department of Human Services.
• Appropriate disclosures depending on the client’s circumstances and treatment planning may be required (with the client’s consent) to the engaged services like other health practitioners, community and legal agencies.
• In case of minor clients
  The clinician has a responsibility to disclose and keep the legal guardians of the child informed about the services provided and personal disclosures made by the child in the session.
• The clinician from time to time may have to disclose relevant client information (keeping the identity of the client as confidential), for the purpose of supervision and providing professional psychological services.

As a client of an APS psychologist, you have a right to expect that:

• You will be treated with respect at all times.
• Your cultural background and language tradition will be respected.
• You will be given a clear explanation of the services you will receive.
• You will be asked to give your consent for any service provided by your psychologist prior to the service commencing and as it progresses.
• You will receive an explanation about the confidentiality of the service and the exceptional situations where your confidentiality may not be protected.
• You will receive a clear statement about fees for your psychologist’s services.
• There will be a discussion about the estimated number of sessions required to achieve your goals.
• You will receive skilled and professional services from your psychologist.
• There will be clear goals that you and your psychologist are working toward.
• You can ask any questions about the service you are receiving.

Note : If you have any concerns about the above matters, discuss them with your psychologist. If you have concerns about the conduct of your psychologist, you may call either the Psychology Board of Australia on 1300 419 495, or the Australian Psychological Society on (03) 8662 3300.

Cancellation Policy

We understand and respect the client’s decision to cancel a booked session. We follow a notice period of 24 hours, so that the session can be provided to next person on the waitlist. Where a cancellation notice is not served, a cancellation charges of $80 on liable to be paid on the part of the client
